Hint: For the purist, we recommend making traditional or “ceremonial” matcha green tea using the finest ZenMatcha “premium” grade matcha.
Matcha green tea preparation instructions
Place ½ to 1 teaspoon of Matcha green tea powder (quantity can be adjusted as desired) in a cup or bowl, add a small amount of hot water and make a smooth paste using the back of a spoon. Heat water to just below boiling point, and add slowly to the matcha paste mixture. Stir and sip slowly!
If a bamboo matcha whisk is used, the Matcha powder can be added directly to the liquid without making a paste, as the whisks are specifically designed to blend matcha powder completely for a smooth drink.
Matcha green tea can also be prepared hot or cold, using water, milk, soy/rice/almond milk, and sweetened according to taste using sugar, honey, stevia etc.A variation on the traditional matcha tea drink, is ginger matcha tea. The combination of ginger and matcha is a powerful tonic for many ailments, and tastes great!Ginger ZenMatchaZenMatcha and ginger are two of the healthiest, naturally pure powders in the world. It is no surprise that they blend together so well!
To make ginger tea base:
Boil milk, soy, almond milk or just pure water with sliced ginger root (approximately a finger length or more per 4 cups….to taste). Let simmer for 10 minutes until ginger root has infused completely. Remove the ginger root.Slowly add that ginger “tea” base to one teaspoon (or more to taste) of ZenMatcha.Whisk or blend until smooth. Can sweeten as desired.
This makes a delightful, hot morning drink and is especially good for women with menstrual cramps or PMS. The ginger and ZenMatcha work in unison to powerfully alleviate any discomfort.A healthy, warming alternative that imparts relaxation and calmness.Sip and breathe
Note: As with any green tea, when preparing matcha the use of boiling liquids can cause a bitter taste and can decrease some of the health benefits. We recommend using hot liquids just below boiling point.
